Description
The Alasia Gavi di Gavi is fresh and textural with ripe stone fruit and citrus characters. The wine has a lovely minerality and weight, with a light nuttiness on the long finish.
Wine labels can be a little confusing, but a wine labelled “Gavi di Gavi” means the wine comes from the township of Gavi, which is central to the production area. Overall, the DOCG has a stricter production zone than DOC Gavi. Better control of yields, for example, produces fruit with a richer concentration, so the quality therefore should be a step up.
