Description
Thistledown was established by Masters of Wine, Giles Cooke and Fergal Tynan, in 2010 after discovering some iconic vineyard plots in Barossa Valley, McLaren Vale and Adelaide Hills. The Gorgeous Old Vine Shiraz is sourced from one old vine plot in Riverland and delivers perfumed notes of strawberry, blackberry and black cherry. A whole berry fermentation followed by a short period of ageing in French oak brings a lovely a texture to the wine. It’s soft, easy drinking and a superb shout if you’re having roast lamb or beef stew.
