Description

Fortuna Terrae means luck of the land in Latin, which relates to the incredible parcel of land where the grapes are grown. The deep loamy soils in this part of the vineyard are home to many varieties of native grasses which prevent erosion and attract insects, singing birds and mountain foxes. Because of the freshness imparted by the deep soils and high altitude, the wines of Fortuna Terrae have optimal acidity and delicate flower aromas. The beauty of all that lovely Argentinian sunshine means that young wines will be approachable from around 3 years, so the 2019 will be brimming with ripe, primary fruits. If you can hold out, this wine has decades of potential and would be a great red for the cellar.

ProducerProfile

Nicolás Catena Zapata is justly credited with putting Argentinean wines on the world map—by the best expedient of focusing entirely on quality. It's great to know he has started a wine dynasty, too. Jancis Robinson, Financial Times wine journalist

We can't really add much more than that! We currently have the Catena Alta and Appellation wines in stock, along with the Bodega CARO wines, which is a joint venture between Catena and Rothschild.
