Description

This special wine has been awarded many points over the years, and the 2019 in no exception, with Decanter awarding it an impressive 97 points and Best in Show 2021!

Expressive, silky and packed full of blueberry, cassis and soft vanilla notes. The tannins are smooth and the acidity is fresh, enabling this wine to age for at least 15 years.

Located in the far southerly growing region of La Consulta, the Nicasia vineyard is the only planting of the special Catena Selection of Malbec cuttings in this traditional area for Malbec. La Consulta was also Nicolás Catena’s father Domingo’s preferred Malbec location.

This is a stunning wine which reflects Catena’s commitment to finding the best plots for Malbec.

ProducerProfile

Nicolás Catena Zapata is justly credited with putting Argentinean wines on the world map—by the best expedient of focusing entirely on quality. It's great to know he has started a wine dynasty, too. Jancis Robinson, Financial Times wine journalist

We can't really add much more than that! We currently have the Catena Alta and Appellation wines in stock, along with the Bodega CARO wines, which is a joint venture between Catena and Rothschild.
