There’s a bit of a buzz around Tasmanian Chardonnay at the moment, with the likes of Tolpuddle putting this stunning wine region on the map.
Dawson James was established by two friends, Peter Dawson and Tim James, who met working at Hardy & Sons in the 70s. With over 80 vintages collectively under their belts, they’ve gone onto create a critically acclaimed winery focused on cool-climate expressions of Australian Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
It’s a fresh, minerally Chardonnay with delicious notes of lime and lemon blossom wrapped up in a smoky, gun flint finish. A touch of barrel ageing brings complexity, warmth and structure. The balance is absolutely spot on.
